The last letter to the brothers is written. A line is drawn. Friends have been useful. Sara is right, they will find a justification for their actions. Why couldn’t they have been honest and kind? Umi is right, it does not all rest with the brothers – Bob could have been more explicit and I did not ask this of him. I did not look after my own interests, I looked after Bob’s, as I had looked after Sugata’s. It is something to learn from, to see clearly. Practically it is particularly hard as aged 60, I am constrained by an unfamiliar austerity. It will be a new phase of life but somehow I will find the way to get back on the road.
