American Mid term rout – into diversity

It was hard to believe that the media described the choice as close, from this side of the pond. Who could vote for this narcissist? Fear of socialism/communism, fear of gender bluring, were some of the reasons given. In the end, by tonight it’s called a blue tsunami. Democrats have the majority of both Senate and the House.

  • The first ever Muslim – Abdul El-Sayed defeated Maga in Michigan
  • Chris Pappas, Democrat of New Hampshire, will be the Senate’s first openly gay male senator first
  • First Black female governor in US Keisha Lance Bottoms, won victory over Republican billionaire Rick Jackson in the Georgia governor’s race to become the first Black female governor in the country.
  • Xavier Becerra has made history as the state’s first elected Latino governor.
  • Democrat Gina Hinojosa pulled off a stunning upset, unseating the three-term governor Greg Abbott. She will be the state’s first Latina governor and the first Democrat to win the office since 1990.
  • Deb Haaland, the former US interior secretary, is a member of Laguna Pueblo.
  • Peggy Flanagan, Minnesota’s lieutenant governor, is the first Native American woman to be elected to the US Senate. Flanagan is Ojibwe and a member of the White Earth Nation.

Trump – it’s not my fault. Its the cost of gasoline. He boasted his wealth has dramatically increased during his presidency, estimated to be 2.7billion – who has paid?
