You needed to know Fargo the film by the Cohen brothers, described by them as based on a true story, but in fact not. You’d need to know that Kumiko was based on a true story of a Japanese girl going to Minnesota in search of the Fargo treasure. I didn’t know either. So the film only made sense at the bar afterwards. Her other worldliness, made me wonder if she was on the edge of the fay spectrum. Interestingly, no one abused her innocence on her way, to the contrary, folksy kind people tried to help her. Only the dog attacked. Evidently she was found dead in a Minnesota snow drift. The film made out she found the treasure, and along with her pet rabbit, made it home.
