New year day Blyth river walk

I am quietly pleased with this modest walk, 15K from front door to the sea, this year of feeling limitations of body. Through the start of the walk, all known paths, I noted the doors that are now closed, that physically I can no longer do. However, remembering a mantrra of Paulo Coelho recommended, I talked to a stranger, also on the walk and passing me (they do now). Where are you going? I opened the conversation, so it was when I asked about the footpath over Wenhaston marshes, he told me the footpath was still closed and gave me excellent alternative directions, repeating the key observation points (you walk behind some garages, you come out at the council houses etc). Nice to find new routes on my doorstep. Across the A12, and back to the old railway line and an old favorite low pollard oak.

15K just under 4 hours we came out to the north sea, just as Meg was putting up the wind break and Virginia was lighting the fire. I missed Serena.
