London Met Police did a mass arrest of protesters (including one over 80) at the Gandhi statue in Parliament square. The protest called by WE DO NOT COMPLY was against the proscription of Palestine Action, people holding placard that contained the words ‘I OPPOSE GENOCIDE, I SUPPORT PALESTINE ACTION’. Why arrested? Because 12 hours previously Palestinian Action was declared illegal under the terrorism act.

The police arrested everyone who appeared to be part of the protest, some of whom where not holding placards or were holding placards with different (and legal) messaging. My photos appear to show a total of 18 ‘illegal’ placards which was coincidentally the number of Police vans that I counted. The officers themselves were too numerous to count. They clearly were not taking any chances with this unruly mob…
