News came unexpectedly that Tre Lenahan died. Here she is 2017 accompanying Magdalene on a Suffolk jaunt, having lunch in the wood, with Julia A and Gabrielle. She was the natural leader of the community as they transited from New Hall Tudor mansion to rough housing estate in Colchester.

Grateful for that record, here is is, for this detail: Tre managed it all, with her energy, her drive (literally and metaphorically), her can do. Where would they be without her.
But something happened, and I heard Christmas 2022 she had been diagnosed with Alzheimer. I last saw her December 2024. She walked me back to the car, (she got on well with the dogs) the elephant in the room pointed to but not named, as I spoke of my recent project with dementia. She looked so vulnerable. She who took charge, who cared for others, being cared for herself.
