Hi Rachel!
I was stoked to receive your long newsy letter what an amazing person you are who is touching a lot of hearts and not only helping people but also the planet with all your tree planting – my real proper eco warrior oldest friend. I did look for you in the movie you sent but couldn’t see you a) because everyone was rugged up n b) I guessed it was you filming!
I was so sorry to hear about your PE’s – shit they must have been scary – what on earth caused them? I was also reflective on your comments about Barbara and Ross, how I loved Barbara and although very young I do remember your dad, I even remember the lay out of your Quebec road house with the crunchy sinky gravel on the drive and Mary your next door neighbour! She always seemed to wear one of those old fashioned aprons. Man, that was all decades ago.
So life in NZ happy, relaxed and easy. We live in a lovely seaside village nestled on an estuary, our house is nothing flash, an old wooden thing built in the ‘40’s but it’s very characterful with a big garden that I’m like a pig in shit pottering in. I’m officially retired but spend busy weeks transporting Alfie to his various activities, job and work experience. I also play table tennis, tennis, swim and lawn bowls so we have an active fulfilled life. Jane is still working, another 2 years to go – she teaches English to refugees. Jacob and his fiancé Divya live about 15 minutes away which is fabulous – so we are very lucky. They’re getting married in Feb 2024 – so although a small gathering our families in UK and USA will be coming so very excited about that – slightly daunted though that the whole thing is going to be here in our garden!
Am so chuffed we now have email addresses – sometimes it’s easier.
I’ll keep you posted about our next European trip ??? Table tennis in Turkey in March 2024 but we’ve probs ruled it out as still lots of hurdles to jump and very up in the air about health issues in France.
We WILL do it next time – I had Alfie with me at Si n Tors and I had no idea Suffolk was at the end of the earth in the UK! So without transport it was a tad difficult. No barriers next time…
Big, big hugs from me – sorry you’re not with Micheal anymore, but sounds like you’re all good – bet the dogs keep you busy!?
happy festive season and love, health, wealth and happiness for 2024
Oh, yes I do remember TT in the Spanish house on the farm
